Poem; ‘Inertia’

Gone away is the innocence
But I still have my youth
Waiting for it to all make sense
Even now, that’s the truth.

I got the gift of gab and a poet’s heart
But I don’t know what I’m doing
They say starting is the hardest part
After that, just keep it moving.

I go through phases of reason and rhyme
Dearly devoted to chasing what’s mine
Cause nothing changes but seasons and time
The laws of Inertia are inside your mind.

Burying my arrogance
Unearth what I never knew
Not an original stance -
But life is what you do.

You’ll go or you’ll stay inside the lines
Cause the laws of Inertia are inside your mind.
